A Hagerstown High School graduate will fill the position of Henry County Zoning Administrator.
Rachel White will start her tenure as zoning administrator as early as Tuesday. The Henry County Planning Commission unanimously approved hiring White for the job during a special session Thursday. A closed door executive session was held prior to the special meeting.
Lola Bisner, interim zoning administrator, said White is ready to start as she completed employment paperwork Friday.
"I'm really glad to have her on board as she's very bright," said Bisner. "It will work out very well."
White graduated from Hagerstown High School and then earned a bachelor's degree from Ball State University in 2010, focusing in political science and economics. She also passed the bar exam after receiving a law degree from Indiana University.
Prior to this appointment, White worked for MillerMeyer, a law firm in Indianapolis. She had interned at American Jersey Cattle Association after a stint as an administrative assistant in the Ball State University economics department.
The Henry County Planning Commission will have its next regular meeting Nov. 7.
