Glen Oaks Senior Living at Forest Ridge and Glen Oaks Health Campus invite veterans and their spouses to a presentation by Kirk House of Hoosier Senior Solutions on important benefits for wartime veterans and their surviving spouses. The presentation is at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20 at Glen Oaks Senior Living at Forest Ridge, 2800 Forest Ridge Parkway, New Castle.
The presentation will focus on the VA's Aid and Attendance benefit, which provides tax-free income for veterans, their spouses or surviving spouses to pay for in-home assistance, assisted living services and long-term care. The program will provide details about VA benefits, including how veterans and/or their spouses might be eligible for an additional monthly income of $1,094 to $2,019 to help cover the cost of necessary assisted living or other senior living services.
This program is offered free to all wartime veterans and their surviving spouses. Lunch and refreshments will also be provided. Door prizes will also be offered to attendees who bring a canned good to donate to God's Grain Bin.
The program is offered as part of Glen Oaks Health Campus and Glen Oaks Senior Living at Forest Ridge's Senior Executive Clubs (SEC). The SEC is one of the campuses' most popular and fastest growing community groups and is comprised of community seniors. Provided are opportunities to meet new people, participate in new activities and have a group of friends to discuss topics of interest. There are no fees for being a member of the SEC and benefits are also free. SEC membership will be offered to all attendees. Bring a friend who joins the SEC, and receive double entry into the door-prize drawings.
