Two Union players make All-County Teams

UNION CITY — The Randolph County Basketball Tournament was held last week and two Union (Modoc) players, one boy and one girl, were named to the All-County Teams.

Monroe Central won both ends of the Randolph County Tournament. The Golden Bear girls defeated Randolph Southern 48-39 in the championship game Saturday evening and the Monroe Central boys defeated Union City 65-24 in the title game Saturday night.

On the girls side, Union freshman Danielle Ogden was named to the All-County Team. Joining her are Abigail McGrath, Jordyn Barga, and Hannah Bolton of Monroe Central; Madeline Lawrence and Becca Chamberlin of Winchester, Hope Brown and Shelby Jeffers of Randolph Southern; and Justiss Cantu and Kahlee Dowler of Union City.

Faith Smoak, a freshman for the Rockets, was named Honorable Mention, as were Kinzie Williams of Monroe Central, Hannah Graft of Winchester, Ally Saylor from Randolph Southern, and Mackenzie Green from Union City.

On the boys side, Union freshman Champ Ellis was named to the All-County Team. Joining him were Nick Mitchell, Israel Nash, and Will Jones from Monroe Central; Jaden Retter and Zach Jessee of Randolph Southern; Trevor Spence and Trevor Thompson from Union City; and Trey Graft and Isaiah Jordan-Miller of Winchester.

Tristan Parrish, a senior for the Rockets, was named to the Honorable Mention list, along with Lane Lewis from Monroe Central, Caleb Wissel of Randolph Southern, Bryten Stewart from Union City, and Boo Enis of Winchester.
