Babe Ruth League Registration

Online registration now is open for the 2018 baseball season.

New Castle Babe Ruth League offers two divisions, a 13-15 year-old division and a 16-18 year-old division. It is the League’s fundamental belief that every child with a desire to play baseball be afforded that opportunity.

Girls Basketball

Tri 45, Northeastern 38

The Henry County Tournament champion Titans traveled to Fountain City Tuesday night and defeated the host Knights, who were runner-up in the Wayne County Tournament, to raise their record to 13-4 overall with the Tri-Eastern Conference win.

Tri was led by Payton Moore, who had a career-high 32 points while also collecting 12 rebounds. While scoring her career high, Moore also eclipsed the 1,000 point mark for her career, making her only the fourth Lady Titan basketball player to go over 1,000 points.

The Titans play at Anderson Prep Academy tonight.

Shenandoah 54, Centerville 35

The Raiders hosted the Bulldogs Tuesday night and defeated them by 19 points.

For Shenandoah, senior Hillery Shepherd and freshman Kathryn Perry scored 16 points apiece, Hannah Cole had five. and Faith Muterspaugh four.

The Raiders travel to Lapel on tonight.

Blue River Valley 55, Seton Catholic 24

The host Vikings defeated the Cardinals by 31 points Tuesday night and will entertain Northeastern tonight.

Lapel 50, Knightstown 31

The Panthers lost to the visiting Bulldogs by 19 points Tuesday night.

Shenandoah 34, Centerville 13 (JV)

The junior varsity Raiders raised their record to 10-5 with a win over the visiting Bulldogs Tuesday evening.

Katie Craig led Shenandoah with nine points, Sydney Campbell had seven, and Stormie Fitch added six.

Junior High/Middle School Girls Basketball

Yorktown 39, New Castle 15 (7th)

The 7th-grade Trojans lost to the visiting Tigers Tuesday evening.

New Castle was led by Sacagawea Watson who scored 11 of the 15 total team points. Also scoring for the Trojans were JC Reeves and Ava Stearns.

“The girls started with a excellent first quarter and ended with a spirited final two minutes,” said Coach Jill Leversedge.

New Castle hosts Connersville tonight.

Yorktown 33, New Castle 27 (8th)

The Trojan 8th-graders lost a hard-fought battle to the visiting Tigers Tuesday night, as they played hard but still came up short.

Leading the way in scoring for New Castle were Karsen Morgan with 13 points, Maddy Meek with 11 points, and Anyssa Hall with three points.

The Trojans host Connersville tonight.
