The Blue River Valley Community School Corporation (“BRV”) is accepting written offers for the purchase of the real property commonly known as 303 South Walnut Street, Mt. Summit, Indiana (“Real Estate”) for the sum of no less than Sixty-Seven Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($67,500.00).

The Real Estate consists of approximately 2.25 acres and is improved with a building consisting of approximately sixteen thousand six hundred eighty-four (16,684) square feet. The Real Estate is being sold in its “as-is” condition and without representation or warranty of any type or kind.

All offers must be in writing and delivered to the Office of the Superintendent, 3038 US Highway 36 East, New Castle, Indiana 47362, no later than 3:00 p.m. on August 10, 2020. All offers should be delivered in sealed envelope that is marked “303 South Walnut Street.”

In addition to stating the offering price, an offer must clearly identify the offeror, including its name and address and provide the name, telephone number and e-mail address of a contract person. An offer submitted by an entity (i.e. corporation, limited liability company) must identify all of the members, shareholders, or partners in or of the entity.

BRV’s Board of Trustees shall open and consider any offers received during its regular meeting on August 10, 2020, at 7:00 p.m. All offers will be open for public inspection. BRV may reject any offers and may award a contract for the purchase to the highest and best offeror. BRV may engage in negotiations with offerors for a period of up to sixty (60) days after the receipt of offers.

An offer submitted by a trust (as defined by Indiana Code §30-4-1-1(A)) must identify each:

(1) beneficiary of the trust; and,

(2) settlor empowered to revoke or modify the trust.

A person who owes delinquent taxes, special assessments, penalties, interest, or cost directly attributable to a prior tax sale on a tract of real property listed under Indiana Code §6-1.1-24-1, may not directly, or through an agent or other legal entity, bid on or purchase the Real Estate. The property may not be sold to a person or entity that is ineligible pursuant to Indiana Code §36-1-11-16.

The sale will be subject to the buyer entering into a written contract for the purchase and sale of the Real Estate that is satisfactory to BRV. BRV reserves the right to waive any informalities, irregularities, errors or omissions in any offer received.
