COMMUNITY IN ACTION

Employees from Duke Energy joined local volunteers Friday at Memorial Park to take part in day of community action. The “Duke Energy In Action” crews replaced shelter roof shingles with metal, installed exterior lighting around the W.G. Smith Building and replaced incandescent bulbs around the park with LEDs. “We’re contributing to improving the vibrancy of this great community,” saidMark LaBarr, Duke Energy community relations manager for Henry County. “It’s just what we do. We give back.” While the Duke crews focused on Memorial Park, volunteers with HOPE Initiative spent Fridaycleaning up lots and planting flowers in the Castle Heights neighborhood.
