Two RDC executive sessions next week

The New Castle Redevelopment Commission (RDC) will meet in executive session at 7 p.m. Monday, May 20, immediately following the city council meeting. The RDC will meet in executive session again at 8 a.m. Wednesday, May 22.

Both meetings take place in council chambers, 227 N. Main Street. The purpose of both will be discussion of strategy with respect to the possible initiation of litigation and the purchase or lease of property and negotiations regarding industrial and commercial prospects.

Veterinary vaccination clinic Monday 

The Veterinary Science Career Program will be conducting the spring vaccination clinic from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, May 20 at the New Castle Career Center. Services available for purchase include vaccinations for both dogs and cats, flea and tick products, dental chews, and joint supplements. 

A free wellness exam will be provided by the veterinarians from Buck Creek Veterinary Clinic.  Please contact Melody Warner at mwarner@ncweb.me or 765-593-6680 for more information or schedule an appointment time.

Volunteers on hand at Mechanicsburg Cemetery over Memorial Day weekend

MECHANICSBURG — The Mechanicsburg Cemetery Board will have informational tents set up Memorial weekend of 10 a.m. May 24-25.

There will be records available to answer questions and to show spaces or help find loved ones. Work is being done in the pioneer section of the cemetery and asking the community for help in locating records of deeds,burial permits or any history on this section.

The cemetery does not have records of the section located in the northeast corner of cemetery. Anyone that has information of a family member or friend, the board appreciates that they be shared with members.
