Sharon Diane (Hoppes) Bundy

Sharon Diane (Hoppes) Bundy, 77, of New Castle passed away on the morning of Tuesday, June 11, 2019.

She was born on February 5, 1942 in Marion, Indiana, a daughter of the late Everett and Mildred Hoppes.

Sharon grew up in Grant County and attended Mississinewa High School. She was married to her husband, Dale “Mr. B” Bundy, for 43 years before his passing in 2018. Together they attended First Bible Free Will Baptist Church and enjoyed going to the New Castle girls’ softball games, Friday night auctions and camping with their family at Brookville Lake. Sharon was known to always have a Pepsi in her hand and for the chocolate turtles that she made by the dozens for people. She worked for Atlas Collections as a manager for 23 years before retiring in 1999. She enjoyed Southern Gospel music especially the Gaithers, Signature Sound Quartet and Mark Lowery. Sharon was loved by her family and was called “Grandma Precious” by her grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Dalene (Don) Norris, Rob (Kathy) Bundy, Tim (Timmy) Bundy, Brad (Jenny) Bundy, Shari Griffin, Greg (Sharon) Stephens and Marc Stephens; grandchildren, Heather Norris, Carmen Norris, Tyler (Layla) Norris, Lance (Katie) Bundy, Kirby (Meg) Bundy, Holly (Jeremiah) McCoy, Kaycie (Shawn) Laughner, Stacia Griffin, Brandan Stephens, Landan Stephens, Christian Stephens and Rica Stephens; great-grandchildren, Gaven Laughner, Ayden Laughner, Lane (Haleigh) McCoy, Kynsey (Blake) McCoy, Shayle (Eliott) Major, Zach Miller, Emma Bundy, Issac Bundy, Copeland Bundy, Veda Bundy, Gavin Stephens; great-great-grandsons, Corbin and Liam McCoy; special nieces, Patty Goble, Linda Hoppes-Sheppard and Debbie Nierste.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Bundy; son, Matt Bundy; two grandsons, Zachary Ryan Bundy and Joey Stephens; granddaughter, Brittney Stephens; brothers, Earl Hoppes and Eugene Hoppes; sister, Dorothy Goble and a nephew John Goble.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, June 14, 2019 at Sproles Family Funeral Home with Pastor Brock Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown.

Friends may call from 12 – 2 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
