Just because the regular season and city tournament are over doesn’t mean the end of the New Castle Babe Ruth League Baseball season.

Three New Castle Babe Ruth League All-Star teams, grouped according to age, have been assembled and are preparing for their state tournaments, which begin later this week. All tournaments are double elimination.

New Castle is hosting the state tournament for the Babe Ruth 15s at Denny Bolden Field, which begins Friday evening with two games, but New Castle does not play until Saturday at 12:30 p.m. when it faces the second-place team from District 3.

Should New Castle win Saturday, it wouldn’t play again until Thursday, July 18 at 8 p.m. If New Castle loses Saturday, it would have to wend its way through the losers’ bracket beginning with a game Sunday at 12:30 p.m.

The championship game is slated for Sunday, July 21 at 1 p.m. If a second title game is needed, it would be played that Sunday at 4 p.m.

The Courier-Times will cover all games involving New Castle in the 15s state tournament.

Players on the NC 15s are, in no particular order, Corbin Malott, Dawson Scott, Nick Burns, Eli Cooper, Jake Barber, Carson Smith, Garrett Rusch, Tristan Hargrave, Kyler Sears, Kody Smitherman, Kaleb Hedges, Bryce Jenkins, Trey Miller, Kyle Gabbard, and Ryan Holcomb. The manager is Josh Cooper and Rodney Scott is coach.

A year ago, the New Castle 15s won the state tournament, the Ohio Valley Tournament, and plated in the Babe Ruth League World Series in Washington state.

The New Castle 14s will  play their state tournament at the South Bend Eastside Little League complex. That tournament also will begin this coming Friday and run until the championship is determined Sunday, July 21.

The New Castle 14s won’t begin play until Saturday at 3 p.m. when they take on the winner of the Jimtown vs. District 3 second place game.

Should New Castle win that game, it would play again Thursday, July 18 at 5:30 p.m. If New Castle loses its opening game, it would find itself in the losers’ bracket with a game Sunday at 3 p.m.

Players on the NC 14s are, in no particular order, Brayden Stanczak, Sam Hastings, Trighton Cummings, Brock Loveall, Quinton Boatright, Garrett Grim, Jonathan Eberhart, Haidyn Bulmer, Quaid Mull, Trent Alfrey, Chloe Vaughn, Cole Johnson, Charles Hastings, and Derek Hurley.

The New Castle 13s travel to Logansport for their state tournament, which also starts this Friday and runs through Sunday, July 21.

New Castle doesn’t play its opening game until Saturday at 3 p.m. when it takes on the winner of Friday evening’s game between District 3’s third and fourth-place teams.

If New Castle wins this game, it wouldn’t play again until Thursday, July 18 at 5:30 p.m. against the winner of the game between Noblesville and the District 3 champ. Should New Castle lose Saturday, it would play a game in the losers’ bracket Sunday at 3 p.m.

Members of the NC 13s All-Star Team are Zayne Parrish, Landon Semler, Gavyn Whitehead, Cadyn Whitehead, Tatum Abrams, Andrew Dock, Tyson Lewis, Logan Tharp, Jacob Jenkins, Gavin Frazier, Isaiah Gard, and Gunnar Harris.
