SPICELAND — The second-annual Jacob’s Clean Water for Kenya Car Show is 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 27.

Registration is 9 a.m. to noon. Cost to enter it is $10. Awards are at 2 p.m. It will be at Spiceland Friends Church, 401 W. Main St., Spiceland.

All proceeds from the day go to purchase clean water filters for children and families in Kenya. The fundraiser’s founder is Jacob Specht, now age 11, of Knightstown.

A variety of activities will take place with a theme of “Flashback to 1969” with all ‘60s music, provided by Jeff Curtis. People are urged to come dressed in hippie clothes. A trophy will go to “best-dressed hippie.” There will be a special flea market table with lots of 1969 items. 

The fundraiser will proceed rain or shine. Additional offerings include:

n Fun for kids with free games, bounce house and 1 p.m. baby contest, ages birth to 3 years, indoors.

n Quilt raffle. Tickets are $1 each or six for $5. The quilt will be raffled at 2 p.m.

n Booth space is available for crafts, flea markets, indoors or outdoors, $20. Contact Marilyn at 765-987-8807.

n Anything on wheels is welcome to enter the car show. There will be dash plaques to the first 75 cars registered and trophies for the top 20; Jacob’s Choice Trophy; Kids Choice Trophy; Best Motorcycle Trophy; Best Tractor Trophy; a 50/50 drawing and a special 50th anniversary dash plaque for all 1969 cars.

n Food and drinks are available inside with air-conditioning available. Also, breakfast is available starting at 8:30 a.m. with biscuits and gravy, Jack’s Donuts and coffee and juice. Lunch menu of pulled pork, sloppy joes, hot dogs, lemonade, tea, bottled water and more.

n Parking is available for motorcycles.

n Jacob’s bake sale and lemonade stand will be open, along with homemade baked goods.
