Redevelopment Commission meets Wednesday

The New Castle Redevelopment Commission meets in executive session at 8 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14 in council chambers, 227 N. Main St., New Castle. The purpose of the executive session is discussion of strategy with respect to the possible initiation of litigation and purchase or lease of property and negotiations regarding industrial and commercial prospects. The executive session will be immediately followed by a public special meeting. The sole matter of business to be conducted at the special meeting will be issues regarding the Jennings Building rehabilitation project. No other matter will be considered.

B.A.M. mums orders, golf outing this month 

Believe and Achieve Mentoring (B.A.M.) is taking orders for their annual mums sale fundraiser. Orders are due Thursday, Aug. 22. Pick up will be 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27 at the First Baptist Church Parking lot. The 23rd annual Nite Lite Golf Tournament is Aug. 24. Registration starts at 7:30 p.m. and tee off is at 8:30 p.m. Snack will be provided before the tournament begins and Jack’s Donuts will be provided afterwards. There is still room for two more teams. Entry is $300, with an additional $50 to sponsor a t-shirt. If just sponsoring the t-shirt, cost is $100. For more information, call or text B.A.M.
