Browse 'The Banner' archives at Knightstown library

Courier-Times Staff Report

The Knightstown Public Library Board of Trustees meets at 4:30 p.m. today, Aug. 13, at the library, 5 E. Main St.

The agenda includes visitors David Kieser and Kim Brand to speak on a possible “maker space” in Knightstown.

The trustees will also discuss forming a long range planning committee, as well as trustee terms ending and possible new board members.

Director Linda Davis said the library now has free access to the digital versions of The Knightstown Banner of Newspapers.com.

“It is fun and interesting to search old editions of the Banner and patrons are already taking advantage of it for fun and research,” Davis said.

Davis said the Statewide Remote Circulation System (SRCS) was upgraded in late July, making searching for Interlibrary Loans easier.

KPL also ordered 53 books with the Pilcrow Foundation Children’s Book Project matching grant money the library received in the spring. The new books are expected to arrive sometime in September.

The Knightstown Public Library is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. The library is closed Sunday and Wednesday.
