Foundation looking for 8th grade volunteers

The TASC (Teens About Serving the County) Youth Grants Committee is looking for volunteers to serve on the youth committee. TASC is composed of one student in grades 8-12 from each of the five county schools: Blue River, Knightstown, New Castle, Shenandoah and Tri. The committee receives grant requests (up to $2,500) from organizations working with youth to review and make recommendations on grant awards.

TASC members are chosen during their eighth grade year by their schools and remain on the committee through 12th grade.

Contact your school’s middle school counselor at the beginning of your eighth grade year if you are interested in serving on TASC. An application, with parent signature, must be completed and returned to the counselor by Monday, Sept. 9. Each school selects their own eighth grade representative.

For more information about the Henry County Community Foundation TASC Grant Program, call 765-529-2235 or visit www.henrycountycf.org. Grant applications for Cycle 1 will be open online at www.henrycountycf.org on Friday, Aug. 16 and will close on Friday, Oct. 11. The Henry County Community Foundation office is located at 700 S. Memorial Drive, New Castle, IN 47362.
