Viola Hancock

Viola Hancock passed away Wednesday, October 30th, 2019. She was born May 12th, 1929 near Albany Kentucky. Viola grew up in Kentucky before moving to New Castle Indiana where she met and married Vasco Hancock on December 4th, 1948. Viola was a life long homemaker, enjoyed gardening, collecting antiques and was an avid doll collector. She helped Vasco in flea marketing and sung in the church choir.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children Rickey Hancock of Milwaukee, WI, Connie Craig (Dale) of New Castle, IN, Lisa Conyers (Kevin) of Springport; Grandchildren Emily Klafka (Jesse) of Milwaukee, WI, Eric Hancock (Kyrstan) of Grayslake, IL, Andrew Craig of New Castle, Adam Craig (Lily) of New Castle, Jake Conyers (Cheyenne) of New Castle, Jenna Glaser (Nick) of Modoc; Great Grandchildren Kira Klafka, Hunter Hancock, Logan Craig, Hannah Craig; Sisters Dorothy Shelton of Port St. Lucie, FL, Jean Gregory of Monticeolo, Ky.; Brother Leonard Owens (Connie) of Greenwood, Ind.; Several nieces, nephews, cousins; and a Sister-in-law Arlene Owens (Deceased Husband Klemon)

Viola was preceded in death by her parents Vernon and Tilda Owens; her husband Vasco; Sisters Ruby Marcum, Hazel Rains; Brothers Cecil Owens, Klemon Owens.

The family would like to thank Henry Community Health Hospice and care givers, Latosha Campos, Lily Craig, Chelsea Sasser, and Amy Wilson for the great care given to Viola

Funeral Services will be held at Marcum Community Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Herbkersman officiating. Visitation will be Monday 5pm-8pm and the Funeral will be Tuesday 11am with burial to follow at Green Hills Memory Gardens.
