Giving Tuesday at Cornerstone

Cornerstone Center for the Arts will participate in the Giving Tuesday movement on Tuesday, Dec.

3. Giving Tuesday is a worldwide day dedicated to strengthening communities, encouraging giving and celebrating generosity. Each year, Giving Tuesday takes place the Tuesday after Thanksgiving to kick-off holiday giving. Local communities are encouraged to participate at the individual, nonprofit and corporate levels.

For this year’s Giving Tuesday, Cornerstone has set the goal to raise at least $3,500 to cover the creation of a student art gallery at Cornerstone. The funds will be used to transform one of Cornerstone’s existing hallways into a gallery space, which will serve the youth of Delaware County. The goal is to work directly with area art teachers to host monthly student art exhibits featuring the work of talented youth in thecommunity.

To do so, Cornerstone must renovate the space with new flooring, light fixtures, paint and install a hanging system to display artwork. This is no small undertaking and will require the help of our community to make it a reality!

You can support Cornerstone’s goal on Giving Tuesday by donating online at cornerstonearts.org, by phone at 765-281-9503, or by popping in to Cornerstone on Tuesday, Dec. 3 to purchase a pop or popcorn and/or drop off a cash, check or credit card donation.
