Raiders Win Jr. High/Middle School Wrestling Meet

LEWISVILLE — The Henry County Junior High/Middle School wrestling meet was Wednesday evening at Tri with Shenandoah emerging as the county champion with a 3-0 record against the other three schools.

Knightstown finished second at 2-1, host Tri was third at 1-2, and Blue River Valley fourth with a 0-3 mark.

In the first round Wednesday, Shenandoah defeated Tri 69-24 and Knightstown bested Blue River 60-12. In the second round, Shenandoah beat Blue River 72-12 and Knightstown defeated Tri 54-24. In round three, Tri topped Blue River 48-6 and Shenandoah bested Knightstown 57-21.

As probably can be determined by the team scores, the Raiders had the most individual champions with 10, the Panthers had four, and the Titans two. The Vikings did not have any individual county champions.

Individual winners in the different weight classes were Shenadoah’s Tyler Wallen at 75 pounds; Knightstown’s Noah Cook at 80; Shenandoah’s Corbett Baty at 85; Knightstown’s Danson Muncy at 90; Shenandoah’s Tristan Swisher at 95; Shenandoah’s Jesse Owens at 102; Knightstown’s Elijah Back at 110; and Knightstown’s  Kamden Smith at 117.

Other Henry County Tourney champions were Shenandoah’s Kelton Lawyer at 125; Shenandoah’s Gabe Lowder at 132; Shenandoah’s Noah Bowen at 140; Shenandoah’s Mayson Lewis at 150; Shenandoah’s Connor White at 160; Tri’s Trinity Parker at 175; Tri’s Clayton Haler at 220; and Shenandoah’s Dalton Badger at 275.

The was no individual champion in the 195-pound weight class.
