The New Castle Career Center Building Trades program is accepting applications for a project for the 2018-19 school year.

“We are looking for a residential house preferably, but are open to all projects,” said program instructor Ben Walters.

First year students in the Building Trades program gain experiences related to residential home construction. Second year students are assigned more complex independent projects and are given leadership roles. All aspects of safety are stressed.

The students focus on one or two large projects each year. Building Trades students most recently helped Raintree Habitat for Humanity build a home in New Castle.

A project application can be picked up at the New Castle Career Center office, located on the west side of New Castle High School, 801 Parkview Drive. Interested applicants can also email bwalters@ncweb.me.

The applications are due May 1, 2018.
