Titan Junior Varsity softball starts season 2-0

LEWISVILLE — The Tri High School junior varsity softball team has started its season with victories over Wapahani 8-2 and Shelbyville 16-0.

The Titans’ Kalie Barber got the win on the mound over the Raiders, scattering six hits, striking out two and walking only one. Barber also was 2-for-3 at the plate with two RBI and scored a run.

Ana Sorrell had two hits and scored a run for the Titans against Wapahani. Cheyenne Lee had a double and two RBI and scored two runs. Kennedy Peggs and Taylor Craft also had a hit on the night. Craft, Madison Hill, Zoie Prince, and Kaylee Riggs all scored a run in the game.

Against Shelbyville, Tri scored runs in all four innings in their romp over the Lady Golden Bears. Zoie Prince allowed only one hit in her three innings of work in the circle to get the victory. Chloe Gentry pitched the final two innings to strike out the final Shelbyville batters.

Offensively, Madison Hill led the way for the Titans with a double, a triple, three RBI, and scored three runs. Cheyenne Lee had a triple, scored three runs, had a RBI, and two stole two bases. Ana Sorrell had two hits, two RBI and scored two runs.

Kalie Barber, Jeannalyn Bevens, Chloe Gentry and Kaylee Riggs each had a hit in the contest. Riggs’ hit was a double. Kennedy Peggs scored two runs and stole a base.
