Tiger teams ground Falcons in track & field

HAGERSTOWN — The Hagerstown High School girls and boys track & field teams hosted Tri-Eastern Conference foe Winchester Wednesday evening, and both Tiger squads came away with dominating wins to run their season records to 4-0 apiece.

The Hagerstown girls won 13 of the 15 events contested to defeat the Golden Falcons 101-22, and the Tiger boys claimed first place in 12 of 15 events to defeat Winchester 97-26.

Winning for the Hagerstown girls were the 4 x 800 relay team of Anna Shafer, Jewels Warfel, Logan McRoberts, Ella Nicholson (11:40), Camryn Bradway in the 100 hurdles (17.5 seconds), Ashley Vinson in the 100 dash (13.8 seconds), the 4 x 100 relay team of Abby Hill, Jessica Swimm, Vinson, and Bradway (54.8 seconds), Hallie Rogers in the 400 (1:08), Bradway in the 300 hurdles (56.8 seconds), Vinson in the 200 (29,1 seconds), and McRoberts in the 3200 (15:07).

Other winners for the Tiger girls were Rogers, Warfel, Lynsie Compton, and Bradway in the 4 x 400 (4:42), Swimm in high jump (4-10), Rogers in long jump (13-10.5), Kaelynn Shultz in shot put (32-9) and Laney Adams in discus (84-9).

In addition for the Hagerstown girls, Abby Dale was third in the 100 hurdles, Abby Hill placed second in the 100 dash, Maci Matanich finished third in the 1600, Compton was second and Makynna Matanich third in the 400, Ella Warvel placed second in the 300 hurdles, Nicholson finished second and Warfel third in the 800, Swimm was second and Hill third in the 200, Maci Matanich placed second in the 3200, Dale finished second in high jump, Swimm was second in long jump, Adams placed second in shot put, and Kassidy Oliger finished second and Shultz third in discus.

Winning for the Hagerstown boys were the 4 x 800 relay team of Alexander McKee, Adam Nadler, Seth Richards, and Logan Tuttle (8:59.5), Holden Robinson in the 110 hurdles (16.6 seconds), Kaleb Slagle in the 1600 (4:44), the 4 x 100 relay team of Hunter Marshall. Branton Payne, Kristion Bates, and Gage James (47.9 seconds), Dylan Napier in the 400 (54.2 seconds), and Robinson in the 300 hurdles.

Also placing first for the Tiger boys were Tuttle in the 800 (2:03), the 4 x 400 relay team of McKee, Tuttle, Napier, and Robinson (3:37), Napier in the high jump (5-9), James in the long jump (18-1), Ryan Golliher in shot put (43-4), and Golliher in discus (145-9).

Also for the Hagerstown boys, Jacob Hensley was second and Nathan Banta third in the 110 hurdles, Payne placed third in the 100, Eli Halcomb finished third in the 1600, Jaylon Favorite was second and Jack Linderman third in the 400, Richards placed second in the 300 hurdles, McKee finished second and Nadler third in the 800, Bates was second and Payne third in the 200, Slagle placed second and Halcomb third in the 3200, the 4 x 400 relay team of Payne, Linderman, Richards, and Favorite finished second, Richards was second and James third in high jump, Napier placed second in long jump, Blake Blevins finished second and Jadon Locke third in shot put, and Blevins was second in the discus.
