Knightstown band to play Sunday

The Knightstown High School Band, under the direction of Alexa Myers, will be playing during the 9:30-10:30 a.m. Sunday, May 20 service at Knightstown United Methodist Church. Parents and friends are invited to attend.

Lunch benefits Kiwanis shoe program

The New Castle-Henry County Kiwanis Club is hosting a $5 lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, May 18, weather permitting, at the corner of Main and Broad streets in downtown New Castle. The meal includes a choice of a hamburger or a hot dog and chips and a drink. Proceeds benefit the organization’s shoe program.

Senior Living at Forest Ridge plans benefit

Senior Living at Forest Ridge, 2800 Forest Ridge Parkway, New Castle, is having a $5 charity drive-thru lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 23. Enjoy car-side service by ordering a meal that day, or pre-order and go through the express lane. To call ahead, call 765-521-4730 by 10 a.m. the day of the event. Meal includes hot dog, chips and a cookie. Proceeds benefit TRU Harbor, which is located in the former Henry County Youth Center facility across from Memorial Park. TRU Harbor is a Muncie-based residential treatment facility that will serve up to 16 adolescent female survivors of commercial sexual exploitation and sex trafficking.
