Andrew Black, 18, was arrested and preliminarily charged with battery, battery on a law enforcement officer, disorderly conduct and resisting law enforcement. 

A large brown and white Akita mix dog was reported barking and chasing people near 18th Street and D Avenue. New Castle police caught the dog, who was picked up by animal control. 

The rear window of a vehicle parked in the 1000 block of Woodward Ave. was shattered, causing $600 damage. 

Edwin Carrender, 52, was arrested and preliminarily charged with public intoxication and operating a vehicle while intoxicated. 

A container of rat poison, valued at $17, was stolen from a front porch after being delivered to a home in the 1000 block of Woodward Ave. 

Arrest information, including the name, age, address and criminal charges, are obtained from police media reports. All suspects are presumed innocent until found guilty in court.
