Jeffery Earl Burk

Jeffery Earl Burk, 62, of New Castle, IN died after a long illness on Sunday, July 8th, 2018 in his home, surrounded by family. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and son. Jeff served as a Marine before embarking on a 30 year career as a truck driver. In addition to his passion for family and long haul trips, he was also an animal lover, with penchant for horses. He had a great sense of humor and loved to make his family laugh. One of his favorite bits was to act like a grump, because everyone knew he was a big teddy bear.

Jeff was born to the late David (Dave) and Lois (Jody) Burk of New Castle, IN. He was the youngest of 4 children.

Jeff is survived by his wife of 43 years, April Burk (Savage) of New Castle, IN, his three children, Scott (Stephanie) Burk of Albany, KY, Amy (Jason) Wade (Burk) of Albany, KY, and Emily (Chris Ruiz) Huddleston of Indianapolis, IN, as well as his 6 grandchildren Toby Burk, Katie Burk, Macy (Jesse) York, and Cassidy Burk, all of New Castle, IN and Kyle Wade and Logan Wade of Albany, KY. He is also survived by his three siblings, Mike (Dorothy) Burk of Oviedo, FL, Nancy Burk of New Castle, IN and Paul (Myra) Burk of Poplar Grove, IL and multiple nieces and nephews. Troy Leduc was a nephew that was like another son to Jeff.

The family will hold a private service and ask that donations be made to the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation in lieu of flowers.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Mary, Tina, Crystal, and the entire Henry County Memorial Hospital Hospice team. Your service and support made his last few months on Earth less scary and more comfortable, and for that we are eternally grateful.
