Cross Country

Tri in Centerville Invitational

The Titan boys had no team score, but Tri junior Trey Williams posted a time of 19:24 for a 12th-place finish Tuesday evening at the Centerville Invitational.

Williams and the rest of the Titans will run at South Adams Saturday.

Girls Golf

Panthers in TEC Tournament

The Tri-Eastern Conference Tournament, postponed on Saturday, was held Tuesday and Knightstown shot 233 in the event that was reduced to nine holes.

The Panthers were led by Daisy Hoffman, who shot a 49 to earn All-Conference honors. Other scores for Knightstown were Kira Smith 59, Makayla Bowling 61, Makenzie Deweese 64, and Emmalee Wilkerson 65.


Daleville 3, Blue River Valley 1

The Vikings traveled to southwestern Delaware County Tuesday night for a Mid-Eastern Conference match and fell to the host Broncos in four sets 25-21, 19-25, 24-26, 13-25.

For Blue River, Mallory Cross had 20 kills, a block, two aces, and eight digs; Brooke Taylor served four aces, produced seven digs, and dished out 35 assists; Alexis Whitinger had 12 assists and eight digs; and Rachel Snavely had three kills and 14 digs. Abby Thornburgh led the Vikings defensively with 20 digs and served three aces.

Jr. High/Middle School Volleyball

Knightstown 2, Lapel 0 (8th)

The 8th-grade Panthers went on the road Tuesday night and defeated the host Bulldogs in straight sets 25-9, 25-20, to improve their record to 8-0.

For Knightstown, Grace Jones had three kills and an ace; Avery Bever had two kills, two aces, and three digs; Josie Koehler had two kills and four aces; Zoe Beabout had a kill and two aces; Gwen Dyer had a kill, a dig, and seven assists; Katelyn Stephens had a kill and a dig; Reese McDonald had a kill; Haley Buchanan had three aces; and Mallory Halcomb had a dig.

The 7th grade lost to Lapel 0-2. For the Panthers, Maycie Jenkins had two kills and Jalyn Kopp had a pair of assists.

Knightstown 2, Morristown 0 (7th)

Monday evening, Knightstown’s 7th-grade team got its first win of the season by defeating Morristown 25-14, 25-22.

For the Panthers in that match, Allie Smith had four aces and two assists; Emily Scott had four aces and a kill; Jalyn Kopp had three aces; Maycie Jenkins had an ace and a kill; and Emma Robinson had an ace.

Boys Tennis

Hagerstown 3, Shenandoah 2

The Tigers traveled west by northwest Tuesday evening and nipped the host Raiders by a point. to improve to 6-2 for the season.

Hagerstown points were earned when Mason Pruitt outlasted Luke Waggener 0-6, 7-6 (7-3), 6-3 at No. 3 singles, Noah Dale and Derek Davis defeated Michael Donahue and Clay Conner 6-3, 6-1 at No. 1 doubles, and Alec Shilling and Caleb Neal shut out Will Jennings and Blake Poffenbarger 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 doubles.

Shenandoah’s two points were earned when Cory Evans shut out Jayden Bussell 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles and Lance Holdren defeated Luke Girdley 6-2, 6-4 at No. 2 singles.

The Tigers also won the junior varsity match 4-1 to improve to 7-0 for the season. For Hagerstown in singles, Josh Grams won 8-0, Jacob Henley won 8-1, and Nick Habzansky won 8-0. Eli Richards and Gabe Warvel won 8-2 in No. 1 doubles.

For the Raider JV, Dawson Woerner and Wyatt Cash won 8-6 at No. 2 doubles.

Northeastern 3, Blue River Valley 2

The Vikings traveled to Fountain City Monday evening and fell to the host Knights by a point.

Winners for Blue River were No. 1 Doubles Mason Crisp and Bryce Klein 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 at No. 1 doubles and Jacob Madden and Brevin Hallatt 6-3, 6-4 at No. 2 doubles.

The Vikings played at Eastern Hancock Wednesday.
