Tigers second, Panthers fourth at TEC golf meet

C-T STAFF REPORT

HAGERSTOWN — The Hagerstown High School girls golf team hosted the Tri-Eastern Conference Tournament Tuesday evening at Hartley Hills and came in second among the eight schools competing. Knightstown was fourth.

The meet had been scheduled for last Saturday, but heavy rains prompted it to be postponed until Tuesday. The event was shortened from 18 holes to nine.

Winchester won the team championship with a score of 196, followed, in order, by Hagerstown 204, Union County 207, Knightstown 233, Cambridge City Lincoln 235, Northeastern 242, and Centerville 272. Tri had an incomplete score and Union City does not have a girls golf team.

The Golden Falcons' Becca Chamberlin was medalist of the tournament with a 40. Others finishing in the top 10, and thus being named All-Conference, were the Patriots' Haylee King (45), Winchester's Kate Riggin (47), the Tigers' Mattie Doerstler, Union County's Sarah Schwab, the Golden Falcons' Taylor Prescott, and the Panthers' Daisy Hoffman with 49 apiece, Hagerstown's Stefani Burns (50), Lincoln's Alyssa Roark (51), and the Tigers' Paige Stuart (52).

Additional scores for second-place Hagerstown were Shay Doerstler 53 and Morgan Rector 54.

In addition to Hoffman's 49, other scores for Knightstown were Kira Smith 59, Emmalee Wilkerson 65, Makayla Bowling 61, and Makenzie Deweese 64.

The scores for Tri's two golfers were Mersades Raley 72 and Camryn Ewing 83.
