Trojan Swimmers and Wrestlers Compete

Saturday, the New Castle High School wrestling team hosted its first Invitational of the season and the NCHS swimming teams were in action at Muncie Burris. Stories and photos about those two events will be in Wednesday’s edition of The Courier-Times.

Boys Basketball

Blackford 81, Blue River Valley 59

The Vikings traveled to Hartford City Saturday night and fell to the host Bruins by 22 points to drop to 2-2 for the season.

Blue River entertains Cowan Friday night.

Lebanon 60, Knightstown 43

The Panthers traveled to Danville Saturday afternoon to face the Tigers on a neutral floor and lost to them by 17 points to fall to 1-2 for the season.

Knightstown plays at Cambridge City Lincoln Friday night.

Shenandoah 69, Alexandria 52

In a battle of two undefeated teams Saturday night, the host Raiders defeated the Tigers by 17 points to improve to 3-0 for the season.

Shenandoah hosts Tri Friday night.


Blue River Valley 19, Tri 1

The Vikings defeated the Titans in their match Saturday at the Rose Bowl. Blue River was led by Haley Tucker with a 401 set and Jessie Lanzer with a 217 game. The Vikings lost to Centerville in their second match 15.5 to 4.5. The high for Blue River was Bladen Beal with a 357 set.

Girls Basketball

Blue River Valley 75, Wes-Del 19

The Viking girls hosted the Warriors Saturday afternoon and romped past them by 56 points to improve to 4-0 in the Mid-Eastern Conference and 7-1 for the season.

Blue River travels to Knightstown Thursday night.

Eastern Hancock 51, Hagerstown 34

The Tiger girls traveled to Charlottesville Saturday afternoon and fell to the host Royals by 17 points to drop to 1-6 for the season.

Hagerstown hosts Union County Wednesday night for a Tri-Eastern Conference contest.

Indianapolis Ritter 60, Shenandoah 56

In a battle of Raiders Saturday afternoon in Von Jameson Gymnasium, Shenandoah lost to visiting Ritter by four points to drop to 5-3 for the season.

Shenandoah travels to Monroe Central tonight for a Mid-Eastern Conference test.
