Foster Grandparent Program Christmas Candlelight Home Tour: 4-8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, tickets to see any or all of the five stops on the tour is $10 to include all. Cookie Walk: 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Dec. 8, First United Methodist Church, 14th and Church Sts. downtown, fill a box for $4, $6 or $8. Cookies, mini-bazaar, cookbooks and lots of other gifts. Proceeds used for mission projects locally, statewide, nationally and internationally. An annual project of United Methodist Women.

A Jazz Christmas at The Sanctuary: A wonderland of carols will be featured at “A Jazz Christmas” at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9 at The Sanctuary of New Castle, 2208 Broad St. It is asked that every guest bring an unwrapped gift to bless the community during this Christmas season. Blues Christmas Concert: 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, First Christian Church, 2000 Bundy Ave. Features the local Christian band, Eversong, with special guests, singer Alicia Jackson and Indiana Blues Hall of Famer, Governor Davis. Playing holiday classics and new favorites. Santa will attend and be available for pictures afterward. Carols and Candlelight Community Christmas Eve Service: 9 p.m. Monday, Dec. 24, First United Methodist Church; bringing together those who would like to sing in a choir made up of many churches to celebrate the birth of Jesus. Octagon House Annual Christmas Tree Walk and Dinners: 4-8 p.m. Friday-Saturday, Dec. 7-8, 400 S. Railroad St. About 25 Christmas trees lavishly decorated throughout the antiques-furnished unique farmhouse. Other holiday displays featured throughout as well. Free tours, donations appreciated for upkeep of the landmark. Homemade vegetable soup or chili, sandwich, beverage and homemade dessert, $10; kids’ meals available at a discount. Just show up; seating for the meals throughout the farmhouse at adorned tables.
