Trio of girl/boy basketball doubleheaders on tap for tonight

This is another busy weekend on the local high school basketball scene as three girl/boy doubleheaders headline the action.

Tonight’s Games

Girls: Shelbyville (2-6, 0-2 HHC)

at New Castle (5-5, 1-2 HHC)

The Trojan girls have won all four games in the series since the two became conference rivals. The Trojans can pull even in the HHC with a win and go above .500 for the season.

The Golden Bears have defeated Franklin County and Edinburgh.

Boys: Shelbyville (3-1, 0-0 HHC) at New Castle (1-2, 0-0 HHC)

The Trojans have won every game in this series since the two became conference rivals. The Golden Bears’ only loss was 82-76 in overtime at Columbus North.

Girls: Tri (5-3) at Shenandoah (5-4)

The Titans won both meetings of the two teams last season. They are in opposite brackets in the Henry County Tournament.

Boys: Tri (0-3) at Shenandoah (3-0)

The Raiders have won 23 straight in the series. The last Titan victory was 56-46 on Dec. 12, 1997.

Girls: Cowan (1-6, 0-2 MEC)

at Blue River Valley (7-1, 4-0 MEC)

The Blackhawks have defeated only Seton Catholic this season, 71-27. The Vikings’ record will change as they played at Knightstown Thursday night.

Boys: Cowan (0-3, 0-0 MEC)

at Blue River Valley (2-2, 0-1 MEC)

The Blackhawks won last season’s game 54-53. The Vikings’ conference loss this season was to Shenandoah 70-55.

Boys: Knightstown (1-2, 1-1 TEC) at Cambridge City Lincoln (3-2, 0-0 TEC)

The Golden Eagles’ victories have come against Christel House Academy, Union (Modoc), and Anderson Prep. The Panthers’ conference loss was to Union County in overtime.

Boys: Union County (1-2, 1-0 TEC) at Hagerstown (1-1, 0-0 TEC)

The Patriots’ win was in overtime at Knightstown. The Tigers have been idle for 13 days.

Saturday’s Games (all Boys)

New Castle (1-2) vs. Brownsburg (2-2) at Southport

The two teams have not faced each other on the hardwood before.

Rushville (0-2) at Blue RiverValley (2-2)

The teams’ records will change as both play tonight. The Lions have won eight straight games in this series.

Wapahani (3-0) at Knightstown (1-2)

The two teams’ records will be different as both play this evening. The Raiders have been impressive in their three victories.

Daleville (1-3) at Tri (0-3)

The Broncos lone win has been against South Adams. Daleville has won three straight in this series.
