Trojan Girls on the Air

John Harp and Lorenzo Pettiford will provide the play-by-play and color commemtary on radio station WLTI-AM 1550 on the dial of all games involving the New Castle girls basketball team in the sectional it hosts, starting with Wednesday evening’s game against Blackford.

That night, the pregame show will air at 5:30 p.m., followed by the broadcast of the game at 6 p.m. If the Trojan girls win, they would play again Friday night at approximately 7:30 p.m.

Boys Basketball

Blue River Valley 82, Union City 47

The host Vikings turned things around after Friday’s dismal offensive performance at Monroe Central and thrashed the visiting Indians by 35 points Saturday night in Shelton Gymnasium to improve to 10-6 for the season.

Blue River plays at Knightstown Thursday night, hoping for an encore of its 67-55 victory over the Panthers Jan. 3 in the Henry County Tournament.

Shenandoah 64, Centerville 34

The Raiders went on the road Saturday night and throttled the host Bulldogs by 30 points to improve to 13-1 for the season.

Shenandoah hosts Class 4A Mt. Vernon (Fortville) Thursday night.

Morristown 63, Knightstown 45

The Panthers went on the road Saturday night to play the defending Class A state champion Yellow Jackets and lost to them by 18 points to drop to 8-6 for the season.

Knightstown hosts Blue River Valley Thursday night, seeking revenge for a 67-55 loss to the Vikings it absorbed Jan. 3 in the Henry County Tournament.

Girls Basketball

Northeastern 72, Knightstown 32

The Panther girls traveled to Fountain City Saturday evening for a make-up game against the host Knights and lost to them by 40 points to end the regular season with a 3-18 record, which includes a 1-7 mark in the Tri-Eastern Conference.

Knightstown plays the host Raiders tonight in the opening game of Class 2A Sectional 42 at Shenandoah.
