Greensboro Church of the Nazarene will host upcoming weekend revival

GREENSBORO — The Church of the Nazarene in Greensboro, 125 E. Main St., is having a weekend revival Friday-Sunday, Feb. 15-17. The Friday and Saturday services are 7 p.m. and Sunday, 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Featured speaker is the Rev. Mark Murphy.

A seasoned evangelist, gospel soloist and recording artist, Murphy is a graduate of Olivet Nazarene University. He was voted one of the top five vocal soloists at the National Quartet Convention’s SOLO Contest and is credentialed as an ordained minister and a tenured evangelist in the Church of the Nazarene.

Recently, Murphy was miraculously healed of stage 4 colon cancer and is happy to tell the story of God’s special touch on his life.

Years of ministry have taken Murphy in extensive travel through the United States and into the U.K., the Caribbean and Canada singing more than 300 days a year.

Ministry experience includes:

• Serving as vocal soloist and speaker in special events such as church revivals, camp meetings, retreats and many concerts.

• Participation in general assemblies and international laymen’s retreats for the Church of the Nazarene.

• Guest soloist on TBN.

• Guest soloist in chapel services for the Indianapolis 500 and Detroit Grand Prix

• Ministry in special memorial services for 9/11, TWA Flight 800 and for the Oklahoma City bombing victims (broadcast on CNN) through his song, “ I am Near.”

• Recorded in Nashville, Tennessee with Bill Gaither.

• Multiple recordings on CD including original music.

Murphy is married to Julie, his college sweetheart and an oncology nurse. They make their home in Selma, and have three adult children and four grandchildren.

This ministry exists to bring hope to the hopeless, healing to the sick and to point each listener to the giver of all these things: Jesus.
