Man pleads guilty to sending nude photo, invasion of privacy

Courier-Times Staff Report

A Henry County judge has sentenced Justin Conwell, 42, Muncie, to more than 950 days of home detention for sending a nude photo to friends and family, including a teenager, over social media last year.

Conwell was arrested in April 2018 after sending a nude photo of a female to several people through Facebook.

One of the people who received the nude photo was apparently a teenager.

Conwell also allegedly called the woman multiple times and attempted to message her through social media despite having a protective order filed against him.

Conwell submitted a plea agreement Jan. 7 and received his sentence Thursday morning.

According to court documents, Conwell pled guilty to Level 6 felony dissemination of matter harmful to minors and one count of Class A misdemeanor invasion of privacy.

He also received a habitual offender enhancement.

Henry Circuit Court 2 Judge Kit Crane ordered Conwell to 959 days of home detention. The judge’s order also gave Conwell’s case manager discretion to have him obtain a substance abuse evaluation and submit to a psychological, anger management and/or domestic violence assessment.

Conwell was a New Castle resident when he was initially arrested in 2018. Court documents show he now lives at a Muncie address.
