Clearing the way for spring

Spring wasn’t exactly in the air Saturday morning, but Memorial Park employees, board members and volunteers were busypreparing for its arrival. As Memorial Park Supt. Laurie Davis drove the tractor, seasonal employees Kermit Coffin and Faye Johnsonvolunteered their timewith new board member Gerri Williams (l-r) to load the wood from a tree being brought down by volunteer Jim Ward(pictured with chainsaw). More clean-up days are planned on Thursday, April 11, Friday, April 26, and Friday, May 10. Anyone who would like to volunteer their time and help beautify the park is encouraged to come on those days or call the park office at 529-1004 and schedule a time to help. The next meeting of the Henry County Memorial Park Board will be 7 p.m. Monday. Anyone interested in the park is welcome to attend.
