Paul Stapleton, left, checks in his pinewood derby car Saturday at New Testament Church of Christ in Hagerstown. The derby was for Hagerstown Cub Scouts Pack 3. Assisting Stapleton with registration and weigh-in were Evan Bowlin, back left, and Mason Bowlin, front right. According to Hagerstown Pack Committee Chair and Tiger Den Leader Dustin Chew, Saturday’s turnout was probably the biggest one in the past five years. Chew said there are 33 scouts participating in the program this year and 32 of them attended Saturday’s race.
