In brief

Men’s basketball league Sundays at Salvation Army

The Salvation Army in New Castle is hosting a men’s basketball league for adult players with ages ranging from 20s to 40s. This is the first year from the league. “There is some really great talent that plays in this league, many players are former players of New Castle, Knightstown, and Blue River,” said organizer Brian Oldham. “My hopes are for the league to continue to grow, and improve each year, and I hope that next year we have the ability to split the league into different divisions to accommodate the skill level differences.” Games begin hourly from 1-4 p.m. Sundays at the Salvation Army, 2500 Washington Ave., New Castle.
