Roger Jones

Roger Dale Jones, 62, of New Castle went home to be with the Lord and his family that went on before him on March 12, 2019.

Roger was an amazing Husband, Father and Poppy to his family. His most cherished memories were of taking his family on vacation to the Smoky Mountains and to the Ocean. He loved his family with all of his heart.

Roger was born October 25, 1956 to the Late Clarence and Doris Jones. He was a 1975 Graduate Of Walter P. Chrysler High School. He attended Whittier Lane Baptist Church and it was there that he received Jesus Christ as his Savior. Roger had an Entrepreneurial spirit and operated several businesses. Most notable were his Record Shop “Recycled Sound” and A-1 Wrecker, which expanded to a Salvage Yard and Car Lot on Broad Street. He was also a very avid fan of NASCAR racing and he was always very interested in History.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Linda Kay Jones of New Castle. They were Married on June 11, 1981. Linda was the love of his life and truly a perfect example of a woman who “stood by her man.”

Roger is survived by his 3 children, Stephanie Renee Jones-Ervin, Justin Matthew (wife Brandi) and Sarah Weikert (husband Daniel) all of New Castle.

He had 4 Grandchildren who lovingly referred to him as Poppy. Braden Cade, Jayden Matthew, Jarren Douglas, and Caulin Joel.

He is also survived by his big sister Linda Cummings (husband Warren) of Noblesville and big brother, Paul Gene Jones (wife Debbie) of Townsend Georgia. As well as many very special Uncles, Aunts, Cousins, Nieces, and Nephews
