Free Community Breakfast on Good Friday: The people of First Presbyterian Church, 12th and Church streets, invite the community to attend breakfast at 9 a.m. on Good Friday, April 19. This is in acknowledgment of the gravity and the beauty of Passion Week. Easter events at Memorial Wesleyan Church: 2701 N. Memorial Drive, New Castle, Open family communion is 5-7 p.m. on Good Friday, April 19. Children’s Easter egg hunt is 11 a.m., rain or shine, on Saturday, April 20. Easter sunrise service is 8:30 a.m. Sunday, April 21. There will be no Sunday school. There will be breakfast, followed by worship at 10:30 a.m. and no evening service.

Good Friday, Easter plans: First Christian Church, 2000 Bundy Avenue, hosts a Good Friday service at 6 p.m. Friday, April 19. The public is welcome and invited. Easter services on Sunday, April 21 are: Easter Open House Style Breakfast, 8:30 a.m., food served until 9:45 a.m.; Sunday School for all ages at 9 a.m. Worship service 10 a.m. Easter egg hunt follows worship service on the church lawn. Spring Community Luncheon set at First Christian: The congregation of First Christian Church, 2000 Bundy Avenue, New Castle, invites all of Henry County to spend time with their neighbors at a Spring Community Luncheon on Wednesday, April 24. Free food will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will feature guest speaker New Castle High School Choral Director Matthew Hurst and the Girls Barbershop Quartet will perform musical selections. Cadiz Area Food Pantry to open Highway 38 Sales Cafe 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days, Friday-Saturday, May 3-4 of the annual Hwy. 38 sale. Breakfast with the Easter Bunny: 8:30-10 a.m. Saturday, April 13 at Hagerstown Elementary School, breakfast hosted by Phi Chi Epsilon Sorority. All-you-can-eat breakfast is $3 per child, $5 per adult and includes pancakes, sausage, fruit, milk and juice. First 100 kids receive a free Easter basket.
