Tri Jr. High track & field teams defeat North Decatur


LEWISVILLE - The Tri Junior High School boys and girls track & field teams hosted North Decatur Thursday evening and won both ends of the meet. The Titan boys defeated the Chargers 65-35 and the Tri girls defeated North Decatur 56-40.

Boys Meet

The Titan boys improved their record to 3-0 with the victory.

Blue ribbons were won by Parker Burk in the high jump, long jump, and 100m dash, Gary Paull in the 400m dash and the 110m hurdles, Nicholas Jones in the 200m dash, and Mason Wilson in the shot put. Tri’s 4 x 100m relay team of Jones, Wilson, Burk, and Evan Craft also finished first.

Second-place ribbons went to Jones in the 110m hurdles, Craft in the 100m dash, Nathan Carmichael in the1600m run, Parker Glandon in the 800m run, Sam Mondrush in the shot put, and Tyler Brooks in the high jump.

Finishing third were Brooks in the 200m dash, Wilson in the long jump, Glandon in the high jump, Mason Abrams in the discus, and Carmichael in the 800m run.

Girls Meet

For Tri in the 100m hurdles, Paige Robertson was first in 20.7 and Amber Rich was third. Kennadi Knepley placed second in the 100 dash and McKaela Betsch was third. Anna Moss was third in the 1600 run. Stella Houchins won the 400 run with a time of 1:12 and Betsch was second.

In the 800 run, Annabell Searcy finished first with a time of 3:21, Hailey Six was second, and Moss third. Lilly Cox placed second in the 200 dash and Houchins was third. Searcy won shot put and Mariah Wilson placed third, and Searcy was second in discus and Wilson third.

Houchins was second in long jump with Cox third, and Knepley finished first in high jump with an opening height of 3-6. The Titan 4 x 400 relay team of Betsch, Knepley, Cox, and Houchins won with a time of 5:16.
