Holy Trinity Lutheran Church sets Holy Week services

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 535 S. 14th St., plans Holy Week services. They are: Maundy Thursday, 7 p.m. April 18, with Holy Communion; on Good Friday at 7 p.m. April 19; Vigil of Easter, 8:25 p.m. April 20, with Holy Communion and Easter Sunday, April 21, with 9:30 a.m. breakfast; Easter egg hunt at 9:45 a.m. and worship at 10:30 a.m. with Holy Communion.

‘Victor’s Crown’ to be presented at Mt. Zion Wesleyan

Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church, 1583 North County Road 300 West, New Castle is presenting “Victor’s Crown” at 7 p.m. Friday, April 19.

Presbyterians hosting Good Friday community breakfast

A free community-wide Good Friday Breakfast is being hosted by First Presbyterian Church, 1202 Church St., New Castle, at 9 a.m. on Good Friday, April 19. This is in acknowledgment of the gravity and the beauty of Passion Week.

Whether you attend a mega-church in the city, or meet with a small handful of faithful believers, or do not attend church at all, this invitation is for you. Please RSVP if you plan to attend to help with planning correct amounts of food. Call the church office: 765-529 3703.

Free lunch with the Easter Bunny

The community is invited to attend a free lunch with the Easter Bunny at Senior Living at Forest Ridge, 2800 Ridge Parkway, New Castle. The event is from noon to 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 19.

Organizers invite those attending to bring their cameras for photos. For information call 521-4740.

Good Friday, Easter plans at Memorial Wesleyan Church

Memorial Wesleyan Church, 2701 N. Memorial Drive, New Castle, announces several Easter-weekend events. Open family communion is 5-7 p.m. on Good Friday, April 19. Children’s Easter egg hunt is 11 a.m., rain or shine, on Saturday, April 20.

Easter sunrise service is 8:30 a.m. Sunday, April 21. There will be no Sunday school. There will be breakfast, followed by worship at 10:30 a.m. and no evening service.

Good Friday, Easter services, egg hunt at First Christian

First Christian Church, 2000 Bundy Avenue, hosts a Good Friday service at 6 p.m. Friday, April 19. The public is welcome and invited. Easter services on Sunday, April 21 are: Easter Open House Style Breakfast, 8:30 a.m., food served until 9:45 a.m.; Sunday School for all ages at 9 a.m. Worship service 10 a.m.

Easter egg hunt follows worship service on the church lawn. In case of inclement weather, the egg hunt will be inside. All are welcome, invited and encouraged to attend.

Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Memorial Baptist 

Memorial Baptist Church, 2400 N. Memorial Drive, New Castle, is having its annual Easter Egg Hunt at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 20. All children and families are invited.

Easter Sunday service is 10:45 a.m. Sunday, April 21 as those attending will explore “The Resurrection and Restoration of All Things.” Everyone is welcome.

City Easter Egg hunt April 20

The City of New Castle will host the seventh annual City Easter Egg hunt at 1 p.m. April 20 at the New Castle Fieldhouse. Bagged eggs will be separated into two age groups: newborn - 6 years old and 7 - 12 years old. There will be six prize eggs containing a special gold coin. Other activities will include an Easter train, free refreshments, the Easter Bunny, New Castle Children’s Ministry activities and a special needs area sponsored by the Henry County Shrine Club.

Little Blessings open to community 

Little Blessings, 1124 S. 18th St., New Castle, is hosting a free community-wide meal from 2-3:30 p.m. April 20 following the city Easter egg hunt. Along with a meal, there will be candy given out and giveaways. This is the third annual event. For information, call Turning Point Church at 599-3000.

Easter Sunday plans at the Salvation Army

The Salvation Army, 2500 Washington St., New Castle, next to Osborne Park, announces Easter-Sunday plans. On April 21, church services are at 10 a.m., brunch at 11 a.m. and an Easter egg hunt at noon.

Bazaar, Easter egg hunt at Tri High set

Spring Bazaar/Easter Egg Hunt festivities start April 20 with a Spring Bazaar and Easter Egg Hunt at Tri High School, 6927 S. Ind. 103. The bazaar runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will feature crafts, food items and other things to see and do. The Easter egg hunt takes place from 10-11 a.m.
