Chalfant anniversary

Stephen and Karen Chalfant

Stephen and Karen (Larrimore) Chalfant of Mount Summit are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on Friday, Oct. 30 2020.

They were united in marriage on Oct. 30, 1970 at the First Baptist Church in New Castle by the late Rev. R.E. Pavy.

Stephen is a 1966 graduate of Walter P. High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp in 1969 for two years. He was in the infantry and fought in the jungles of Vietnam.

He reached the rank of corporal. He retired from New Castle Chrysler as a millwright after 33 years of service.

Karen graduated from Walter P. Chrysler High School in 1968. She worked in retail, finance and retired from Henry County Hospital.

They have two sons, Christofer (wife Kristi) of Byrdstown, Tennessee and Anthony (wife Maria Andal) of Cumming, Georgia. Grandchildren are Brittany (Nik) Niessen of Lewisville, Tyler Tracy of Cumming, Georgia and one great-granddaughter, Brylee Niessen of Lewisville.

Due to COVID-19 the couple will celebrate with family at a later date. They want to wish everyone health, love and peace.
