On Monday evening, Henry County lost a deeply respected public servant and leader in Commissioner Kim Cronk. Our hearts are broken at Kim’s sudden passing, and our prayers and deepest sympathies are with his family, friends, and loved ones.

Kim grew up in a farming family in Henry County and was a proud graduate of Shenandoah High School. He attended Ball State University and graduated with a degree in education with an emphasis in political science. Kim taught for several years before then transitioning to a long career in law enforcement with the Henry County Sheriff’s Department as a deputy, a detective, and two consecutive terms as Henry County Sheriff. Kim also served in local government for many years, as a member of the Shenandoah School Board and Henry County Council, and for three terms as Henry County Commissioner, for which he served as President. Kim worked hard every day for the betterment of Henry County, and his impact was felt widely and over many years.
