Thanks to Believe and Achieve Mentoring (B.A.M.), there are dozens of children in Henry County who have a positive adult in their lives that they can look up to.

One of B.A.M.’s biggest fundraisers of the year – the annual Bowl-A-Thon – takes place Saturday, Feb. 27, at Rose Bowl in New Castle.

The first game starts at 10 a.m. and the last bowling hour begins at 5 p.m.

There are several changes for this year due to Covid, but B.A.M. is hoping to get the support of previous years and have a great day of bowling and fundraising.

“We ask each person on a team of four to work toward a pledge goal of $150.00 each, so a team a goal of $600,” said B.A.M. Program Coordinator Tina Cupp, “B.A.M. will still be doing the 7/10 Split (Challenge) as normal. Each $150 worth of pledges gets you a chance at the $10,000!”

B.A.M. is also offering the 50-50 draw each hour as well as the new “Big Shot Challenge.” The Rose Bowl is still working on the details of this new challenge.

Cupp said these new features of the Bowl-A-Thon will let people come out and enjoy in the fundraiser even if they can come up with the full $600 team goal.

It will be important that each team is pre-registered and assigned a lane so organizers know how many people to expect each hour.

“With registration, please provide tee shirt sizes for your team members so we are sure to order the correct sizes and amounts,” Cupp said.

In addition, teams will have the choice of traditional or Hyper Bowling so please. Let Cupp know your preference when you register as this will make a difference on lane assignments.

“The new Hyper Bowling that the Rose Bowl offers is the only place in Indiana that has it!” Cupp said. Visit the Rose Bowl Facebook page to check out what Hyper Bowling is.

As a Covid precaution, you will be asked to wear a mask to enter Rose Bowl, but once you start to bowl, it is your choice to continue to wear it.

The Rose Bowl is taking precautions to keep everyone safe and comfortable during the 2021 Bowl-A-Thon.

They will be cleaning and sanitizing each ball and ball return as well as tables and everything in between each hour and throughout the day. All employees will remain in a mask throughout the day.

Sponsorship opportunities

Believe and Achieve Mentoring is still looking for lane sponsors, at $150 per lane.

“These will be done differently this year,” Cupp said. “Instead of the sign being posted at the end of each lane and only on that lane, your business name and logo will show on the TV screens in rotation throughout the day.”

Sponsors can also choose to do a commercial of a 16x9 graphic instead of just their business name and logo.

B.A.M. is also looking for T-shirt sponsors which will cost $200 which includes the name of their business and their company logo on the shirts.

Or you can get a T-shirt and a lane sponsor for $300.

There will also be silent auction items, and door prizes as well.

“We want everyone to come out and enjoy the event but we ask that everyone remembers that at the end of the day this is a fundraiser for us to help the youth of Henry County,” Cupp said. “We appreciate all the support from everyone from previous years and look forward to having another successful Bowl-A-Thon in 2021!”
