Although elected officials believe the city is on the right path to reduce heavy debt from health insurance expenses, concern about finances remained at Monday’s city council meeting.

“I was very surprised at the last council meeting that the budget was not mentioned,” city resident Patty Broyles told the council. “And then I get home the next day and open the paper and we’re $6 million in the red due to insurance.”
