Early voting lines long at Justice Center

Officials at the Henry County Voter Registration report approximately 6,500 people have requested to vote absentee so far, an increase by about 1,300 from 2016. Early voting continues through noon Monday at the justice center. Hours today, Thursday, Friday and Saturday are 8 a.m. to noon and 2 to 4 p.m. Hours Monday will be 8 a.m. to noon. Meanwhile, early voting also continues at the New Castle Ivy Tech site on Ind. 3. Voting there is 2 to 7 p.m. during the week and 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday. Officials say voting on Election Day should not pose any long lines or problems, since there are 12 vote centers to chose from and 15 voting machines at each site. Voting on Election Day runs from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. with COVID-19 precautions in place at each site. Sites include: American Legion, Grace Baptist Church, Ivy Tech Community College, Henry County Art Center and Whittier Lane Baptist Church in New Castle; First Christian Church, Community Ministry Center in Mooreland; New Lisbon Christian Church, Middletown Church Of The Nazarene, North Entrance; The Gathering, Lewisville; Cadiz Christian Church; Mount Summit Christian Church; and Knightstown United Methodist Church.
