The Knightstown Town Square has been through a lot of changes in it’s history, and many businesses have filled the storefronts. More local businesses will be coming to Knightstown when the Knightstown Makers Market opens in 2022.
Knightstown Makers Market will be located on the Knightstown Public Square, north of the gazebo. A total of six cottages will be leased to local artisans for sale of hand made products. Each cottage will be 12 feet by 15 feet, for a total of 180 sq. ft. of space.
The Knightstown Makers Market is sponsored and supported by Knightstown Main Street, Inc.; Beautify Knightstown, Inc.; donations from local individuals, businesses and community organizations; and the Indiana Housing & Community Development Authority’s CreatINg Places program.
A “Makers Market Preview” model cottage will be placed on the Public Square during the National Road Yard Sale Days. It will open for business 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, June 2 through Sunday, June 6.
The model cottage will be operated by the first tenant, Jan McGuire, of “Something Knew” and will be open for business throughout the remainder of the year on Fridays and Saturdays while also serving as Knightstown Makers Market Information Center.
Knightstown Makers Market plans to open officially in May of 2022. Their planned season will run Memorial Day through Labor Day with the cottage shops open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
After Labor Day 2022, Knightstown Makers Market plans to be open Saturdays through the end of that October, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
They also have a special Small Business Saturday planned for the Saturday after Thanksgiving from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. Finally, they intend to be open on Saturdays in December 2022 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
