Connersville 39, New Castle 30 (9th)The Trojan freshmen played the Spartans Tuesday evening and lost to them by nine points to drop to a record of 4-7 for the season.

Caden Blackford led New Castle in scoring with 14 points, followed by Gavin Frazier and Isaac Madden with seven points apiece, and Tyson Lewis added two points.

Girls Basketball

Shenandoah 57, Cowan 41The Class 2A No. 9 Raider girls hosted the Blackhawks Tuesday night and defeated them by 16 points for their 13th straight win by double digits, and improved to 7-1 in the Mid-Eastern conference and 16-3 for the season.

Shenandoah travels to Pendleton Heights Saturday afternoon to tangle with the Class 4A host Arabians, who gave the Raiders one of their three losses last season.

Hamilton Heights 73, New Castle 31The Trojan girls traveled to Arcadia Tuesday night to play the undefeated Class 3A No. 7 host Huskies, a potential opponent in Sectional 24, and fell to them by 42 points to slip to a record of 1-12 for the season.

New Castle travels to Yorktown Friday for a 5:30 p.m. HHC game against the Delaware County Tourney champion Tigers, and then plays at Cowan Saturday afternoon against the Delaware County Tourney runner-up Blackhawks.
