The Trojan boys traveled a bit southwest Thursday night for their final regular season and Hoosier Heritage Conference game of the season and fell to the host Cougars in overtime.

In a very fast-paced and physical game, New Castle matched the home team in intensity and effort, but 4:19 away from sending the contest to PKs, Greenfield was was able to score a goal off a corner kick.

Trojan goal keeper Andrew Christman had one PK save and 12 other saves in the run of play.

New Castle travels north to Yorktown Monday to play Blackford at 6 p.m. in the opening round of Class 2A Sectional 24.

Volleyball

Morristown 3, Knightstown 2

The Panthers hosted the visiting Yellow Jackets Thursday night and fell to them in five sets 26-24, 23-25, 19-25, 25-23, 11-15.

Leaders for the Knightstown were Gwen Dyer with seven kills, 37 assists, six digs, two aces, and a block; Brookelynn Snyder with 12 kills and four blocks; Paige Personett with 10 kills, an ace, a block, and seven digs; and Teagan Yoder with eight kills and a solo block.

Also for the Panthers, Jalyn Kopp had eight digs, three aces, and two assists; Alicia Knapp had four kills, three aces, and two blocks; Avery Bever had four kills, two aces, two assists, and six digs; Taeler Mayhew had an assist and seven digs; and Breanna Ramsey had seven digs and an assist.
